Gravity signed the MoU with CityU to co-invest HK Tech 300 projects

(22 June 2022) – Gravity Capital Partners Company Limited (Gravity) established an important collaboration with CityU by signing a MoU in the CityU incubation centre in Unit Centre at 8/F. This collaboration between Gravity and CityU is to co-invest at least 10 projects from HK Tech 300 with total amount no less than HKD5,000,000 yearly. This is a key milestone of Gravity to support HK startups and university to co-build the eco-impact-system in Hong Kong. Gravity’s Co-founders Mr. Eric Yip signed the MoU with the VP of CityU Mr Sunny Lee.

At the begining of the ceremony, Dr. David Chung Wai-keung, the Under Secretary of Innovation and Technology Bureau, HKSAR Government shared a speech to appreciate the contribution of CityU HK Tech 300 to our startup community and congratulate the collaboration between Gravity and CityU.

Then, Chairman of CityU E, Mr Raymond Leung said “CityU has been working closely with the innovation and technology sector to build a bridge between HK Tech 300 start-ups and the industry and to create a more complete runway for their development”. CityU HK Tech 300 team also fully agrees and appreciates the value and mission of Gravity, by nurturing local impact businesses while creating synergy with different stakeholders, strive to build a better impact ecosystem in Hong Kong. With the great support and joint efforts from Gravity, this collaboration will witness the growth of more impactful start-ups and bring them to the next level.

Ir. Dr. Alan Lam, Director and Chief Technology Officer of Gravity, then introduced Gravity to all guests, sharing Gravity is a tech-based impact investment and management company that leverage finance-industry-university-R&D centre resourses to support startups and SMEs in order to build an eco-system for Hong Kong.

After that, two co-investees then shared their company introduction to all guests and media. The first one is the co-founder of Kamakura Foods Limited.

Wada Bento is a Decentralized Foodservice Platform owned by Kamakura foods limited which is enabling foodservice to expand extensively using patented hot-chain bento robot technology. For end users, they can enjoy hot and fresh meal boxes from our bento robots in just 17 seconds. The technology has been verified by over 180,000 bentos sold.

Then the co-founder and CEO of Novelte Robotics Limited shared their company introduction. Novelte aims to provide Robotic Solutions to enable Contactless Workflow, Less Manpower Demand, Less Operation Cost, Higher Task Efficiency, Reliable Robotic Working Data from Backend System, to reflect Detailed Jobs, Parameters. In this project, they would like to develop a new Depth Camera Navigation System to lower the robot cost

At the end of the Ceremony, the CityU board members, VPs, HK Tech 300 managements, partners, startups and members took a group photo with Gravity team to celebrate this collaboration. With this successful milestone, Gravity believes that it is just a nice start. More and more startups will be supported by Gravity and CityU under this strategic collaboration.
